Community guidelines
Help keep VCI Classifieds a useful, welcoming place for local buyers and sellers. These guidelines carry forward the original site’s posting rules, updated for the current account and messaging features.
Who can participate
Registration and confirmed payment are required to post or reply to ads. Members must be at least 18 and live in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, or Missouri. Classic has a one-time registration fee; Plus and Pro start with their selected membership payment.

Choose an appropriate category and describe your item accurately. You are responsible for the descriptions and photos you submit. Do not repost or renew an ad early to move it ahead of other listings; use the renewal option when the ad reaches its renewal period, normally 25–30 days.
No live-animal ads
Ads involving live animals—including wanted, free, for sale, lost, or found—are not allowed in any category, except for accounts specifically authorized by VCI staff. Violations may result in removal of the ad or account suspension.
Protect your contact information
Your account email address is hidden from public listings. Use the site’s buyer–seller messaging to communicate. Putting your phone number or email in an ad makes it available to unverified visitors and increases your exposure to unwanted contacts and scams.
Keep listings current
Listings normally expire after 30 days unless renewed; an earlier expiration you select still applies. Watch your account notifications and email for renewal reminders. Archive an item when it is sold or no longer available. Expired listings are archived, and administrators can help with restoration when appropriate.
Photos and account allowances
Classic includes 8 ads per rolling 25 days and up to 3 photos per ad; Plus includes 20 ads and 6 photos; Pro includes 350 ads and 9 photos. Upload relevant photos through the listing form. Your listing location comes from your profile ZIP code.
Moderation and responsibility
VCI staff may remove ads they deem inappropriate and suspend accounts without prior notice. Advertisers are responsible for their ads; VCI does not guarantee their accuracy, integrity, or quality. The full Terms of Service describe the responsibilities and conditions that apply to using the site.
