Here is a Rock Ola M1 Carbine from the estate of a WW II veteran.  It shows that it is likely a bring home carbine.  The rear sight has been slightly modified likely by GI and field repair of barrel band.  Otherwise in perfect condition.  Compared to current sales, the price is a great price.  These are very rarely seen for sale on local listing. I resist sending to auction house and loose track.
